Glimmering sunshine,

In this season of waning days, goldenrod lights up meadows and fields with a refreshing blend of ruggedness and jubilation. As the landscape gently goes from green to gilded, a marvelous time in the medicine wheel of the year is upon us.

Depending on where you live, goldenrod may now be in full bloom glory or gussying up for its six-legged suitors— including monarch butterflies, praying mantises, and bright red ladybugs.

This is the herbal golden hour!

Late summer and fall is the time for gathering up the last blooms, berries, and fragrant leaves before cold weather arrives on a rustling wind; the moment when our medicine gives a final above-ground flourish before descending to the realm of roots.

Goldenrod is the herbal star of this show: it’s a premier ally for seasonal allergies, colds, flu, and urinary tract infections. It’s also a seasonal dye plant, pollinator mecca, and flavor-rich culinary and beverage herb.

We have the most extensive goldenrod library on the Interwebs!

Everything you need to identify, gather, and use glorious goldenrod is on our blog:

But first and foremost, go out and get to know goldenrod.

While you’re there, notice how the hummingbird moths and bees pay homage to every last parcel of pollen—they know how to have their nectar and drink it too.

Will you become an herbalist during this glimmering season?
