Last winter I went on a little podcast tour—talking tea, culinary herbalism, and medicinal herb gardening—but promptly forgot to share the episodes with you! Yet somehow, the timing of things always works out…as our herb gardens flourish under the lengthening sun, it’s a perfect moment to consider how we’ll make use of our harvests.

One practice I always relish is preparing for the months ahead by harvesting and drying my apothecary stash of winter tea herbs. This is how herbalists often work: we’re perpetually gathering and making medicine for the seasons to come.

In an interview with Jiling Lin of Mountain Rose Herbs, I talk about this ritual for herbal teas: how to grow them, ways to help them flourish, and what to do with them once they’re at their peak! I also name drop some of my herbal besties and share my top three herbs to have on hand for tea throughout the year.

Perhaps some of these herbs are already thriving in your garden, just waiting to be imbibed in delicious drinks. Come find out!
